For the Crust:

1 box of dry yellow cake mix (unprepared)

8 Tablespoons of melted butter

1 egg

For the Gooey Layer:

8 oz. of softened cream cheese

2 beaten eggs

16 oz. of powdered sugar

Steps to Make the Perfect Ooey Gooey Bars:

Kickstart your baking session by preheating the oven to 350°F.

For the crust, take a medium-sized bowl and mix the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Blend until you achieve a smooth consistency.

Using a greased 9x13 baking pan, spread the dough evenly across the bottom. Once done, set it aside.

Moving on to the gooey layer, in a large bowl, cream the softened cream cheese. Incorporate the beaten eggs and blend until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and keep mixing until well combined.

Pour this creamy mixture over the previously prepared crust.

Bake in the preheated oven for around 25-30 minutes. Ensure you don't overbake.

Once baked to perfection, take it out and allow it to cool thoroughly. Only then should you slice them into bars.
