Mexican Beef Lasagna



*Ingredients:

° - 2 pounds of ground beef (or protein of your choice)
°- 1 4oz can chopped green chiles (add more if you like the extra spice)
° - 1 pack store-bought taco season
°- 2 tbsp hot salsa of your choice (if you don't like it spicy, add 2 more tbsp mild salsa)
° - One 12 oz pack of flour  tortillas
° - 4 cups of grated cheese of your choice
° - 1 jar of mild commercial salsa
° - 2 cups of water
° - 2 cups of sour cream
° - 4 green onions, chopped
° - Optional: a chopped tomato

* Instructions :

1. Preheat your oven to 350.
2. Heat  skillet over medium heat. Add your beef and cook until the meat is no longer pink.
3. Add beans, green chiles, taco seasoning and hot salsa to skillet and stir until well combined.
4. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. Start layering the lasagna, first with the tortillas, then the meat mixture, then the cheese. Repeat the layers two more times.
5. In another bowl, combine the jar of mild salsa and the water. Pour the mixture over the top of the lasagna, cover and bake the dish for 1 hour.
6. Garnish the dish with sour cream, green onions and the remaining grated cheese. Cook the dish uncovered for an additional 5 minutes. Be sure to let the dish sit for 5-7 minutes before slicing.
7. Add toppings of your choice, such as olives, tomatoes or guacamole.
8. Serve and enjoy!
