Roll Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

The French Cinnamon Toast Casserole is an interesting variation that combines cinnamon rolls and French toast in one delicious dish. Easy and delicious, it's bound to become a family favourite!

* Ingredients :

° 2 boxes of cinnamon rolls
° 1/2 cup melted butter
° 1/3 cup sugar
° 2 eggs
° 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream (half and half work too)
° 3 teaspoons cinnamon
° 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
° 2 teaspoons vanilla
° 1/2 cup chopped pecans

* Directions :

In a large glass bowl, melt the butter with the sugar.
Beat eggs, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.Open a canned cinnamon roll and cut each cinnamon into quarters. Place the cinnamon roll pieces in the bowl of the egg mixture and toss until well coated, then pour the pieces covered with the egg mixture into a greased 9 x 12 casserole dish and distribute evenly.  Use any remaining egg mixture to coat the casserole.
Sprinkle with pecans, then bake at 350° on a low rack for 35-40 minutes or until browned (I put a toothpick inside to see if the casserole is ready. I like mine a little on the wet side, and bake for about 35 minutes.)
Remove the casserole from the oven. Hot powder of cinnamon rolls in the microwave for 15 seconds; Pour evenly over the bread.
*I made it the next night without the pecans. I made sure to cover the casserole and stick it in the fridge, and then it's morning time to add the pecans and bread and voila! It's absolutely delicious for your friends or family !

Enjoy !
