Skillet Fried Corn

Cook this fried corn with bacon and chives until golden brown and caramelized. An easy summer side dish that goes well with grilled meats, fish, and hamburgers.

You can never go wrong when serving corn as a side dish; Some of my favorites include corn salad with black beans, slow-cooked corn, and this simple yet delicious fried corn.

There is nothing better than fresh sweet corn in summer. While it is evident that enjoying corn is delicious on a cob with a little butter, it is even better when it's prepared in Southern fried corn. This combination of caramel corn and delicious bacon is simply unbeatable!

How to prepare fried corn?

This recipe starts with bacon, which is cooked in a skillet until crunchy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and sauté the corn kernels and onions in the bacon fat, along with some spices and a little sugar. The sugar helps the corn to get delicious caramel chunks. The final step is to saute the bacon again in the corn and add a little chives. I always serve fried corn alongside roast chicken, which is the perfect easy side dish for summer gathering.
